  • Oxygen Sensor in 2013 DP250AP

Have 40 hours on new motor and check engine warning code 3-6 came onto SMIS 4" display. Brought to repair facility and they said the oxygen sensor was bad. Has anyone else had this experience with DP250 or DP300?
Really concenred about reliability of the motor.

    newer motors

Well apparently diagnostics system is working well. And if under warranty, that's a major plus. Happy boating. Can't say this is a common problem.

The larger motors, the V-6s, are the only ones with an O2 sensor. There has been only one other report on here of a 3-6 code that I can remember.

        Oxygen sensor DF250AP

What happens if I am off shore fishing and oxygen sensor warning 3-6 appears on instruments? Will motor keep running? If yes what problems might I prepare for?

Yes it will keep running, it will go into open loop. The oxygen sensor is a fuel trimmer keeping the air fuel ratio to 14.7 to 1 while in cruise mode. Go for a good run if it stays on you will have to get the problem sorted.
